We hope you and your family had a restful and peaceful end of term break.
As you may be aware, we have been approached by Derby City Council (DCC) to increase the number of Year 7 students joining Landau Forte College Derby from September 2022. This is in response to rising secondary student numbers across Derbyshire.
Our school, which was recently named the most over-subscribed school in Derbyshire, will now be able to welcome more students in September 2022, and a further increase in Year 7 students from September 2023. This is a very exciting development which means that more students will be able to have their first choice of school.
As part of the plans to host the new students, it is proposed that we will have extension and remodelling work to provide additional capacity, and we are also looking at opening an additional building for classrooms.
I want to reassure you that this will not affect your child’s education. We have worked extensively with DCC to ensure that we are able to bring more students into the school while maintaining our existing high quality education.
