From this September, schools will be legally required to have a phone free school day for students and this is being implemented through the Children’s Wellbeing and School Bill 2026. In line with this Department for Education guidance, we will be completely phone free from the start of the new academic year. All students in Year 7 to 11 will be provided with a mobile phone signal blocking pouch, called Hush pouches, in which they will be placing their mobile phone at the start of each day.
Thank you to those parents and carers who attended our recent parent drop in session about our new policy. An information sheet providing a lot more detail around the introduction of the Hush pouches can be found here.
We have shared the new policy with our students over the last week and we look forward to working in partnership with all in the Landau community to successfully implement this policy. If you have any questions about the policy, please don’t hesitate to contact us via the LFCD website.
