NOTE: The deadline for applications was Friday 24 January 2020. Late applications will be considered after the on-time applications have been processed.
We are delighted to receive applications from Year 11 students who are currently at other schools and colleges. Each year approximately a third of our Year 12 cohort are new to the College for their sixth form education and in 2018, these students came from 16 different institutions. Please note that the application process outlined below is different to that for students applying to join us in Year 7.
How do I apply?
To apply to Landau Forte College Derby Sixth Form, you must first complete the application form. Please find a copy of our application form attached otherwise you may collect a form when you visit the college for our Open Evenings being held on 9 and 10 October.
Alternatively you can either request one directly from Mrs Murton at Landau Forte College Derby
On the application form you must complete details of your predicted grades for your GCSEs and the courses you wish to study at the College.
When will I hear about the outcome of my application?
We will write to advise you we have received your application . If successful, a conditional offer will be made which states the combination of subjects offered (please note that courses offered are subject to demand).
Students will either receive a conditional offer or a ‘hold’ until GCSE results are known. Return slips, indicating whether the student wishes to accept or decline the conditional place, must be completed and returned to the College.
What happens when I receive my results?
The final stage of the application process is GCSE Results Day. All students holding a conditional offer must contact the College to provide their results on this day. The majority of students will be advised straight-away if their place can be confirmed and any queries will be dealt with as quickly and efficiently as possible. Students must confirm whether or not they wish to take up their place at the College.
All places will be confirmed in writing, stating the subjects on your chosen pathway. The letter will state full details of the Induction programme that will be run on the first 2 days of the academic year for Year 12 students.
Students must bring with them copies of all exam results.
