Many thanks! DrD and the Sixth Form Team. This year, we have hosted a number of ‘Non-Qualification Activities’, mainly on Wednesday afternoons. These have included presentations from various universities and apprenticeship providers, alumni, quizzes, a creativity task, input on forced marriage/honour based abuse, religion and ethics, The Ted Baker Diploma, the Lessons in Hate workshops, and Ready Steady Cook events. Question 1 - Please state any additional presentations/topics you would like to see included next year?As you are aware, there has been a whole-college focus this year on Oracy, (defined as the ability to articulate one’s ideas/opinions and engage with others through spoken language). In particular, we have discussed the three Vs – Vocab, Volume and Validity. In Sixth Form, you have specifically taken part in Miss Clapp’s Wednesday afternoon session in the Theatre, the Oracy Extension/Debate sessions with Mr Hutchinson, two series of subject Vivas, regular tutor time discussions and the recent Religious Affairs/medical ethics workshops with Mr Butler and Mr Mahalski.Question 2 - How would you consider your oracy now compared to the start of the year?
