Following my recent graduation and
limited experience working with the
College before August 2015, I was
unsure of my expectations prior to
my arrival. I was clear on what it
meant to undertake Teacher Training
and the many aspects that it would
entail, but still I felt apprehensive
about the expectations of me.
However, this was unnecessary as I
feel very lucky about my experience
so far! My training here at Landau
Forte College has given me a great
insight into different teaching styles
and the diverse nature of learners.
I have been fortunate enough to
witness a wide range of sessions
My SCITT experience has been
fantastic, engaging and testing
so far. Through getting to know
students, building a rapport
with each individual has been
a pleasure. I have already been
involved with delivering sessions
and I have become more
aware of the challenges that it
entails. During the professional
development portion of our
training, the trainees and I
were involved in a ‘micro-
teaching’ exercise. This required
each trainee to produce an
explanation of an aspect of their
subject to be delivered in four
minutes. Judging by the quality
of the exercise, I think that
many others are also enjoying
their journey towards becoming
a fully-fledged tutor.
