We have our own distinctive culture and ethos, the
cornerstone of which is the high quality pastoral care
all our students experience. We are a large school
with a small school feel. We know our students as
individuals and understand their strengths and areas
for development. The vertical tutoring system and
the consistency of the same personal tutor during a
young person’s time at the College means that positive,
reassuring relationships are built between the student,
peers, the tutor and parents and carers.
We aim to enrich our students’ learning experiences
by ensuring they all have the opportunity to immerse
themselves in activities that they may not ordinarily
have access to. Such opportunities can only further
develop our young people. In today’s competitive
society, we want to prepare Landau Forte College
students to be able to confidently compete with the
top graduates in the UK and beyond.
Landau Forte College is proud to be different from other
academies and schools and part of that difference is
reflected in our established partnerships with business
and industry, which bring the world of work securely
into the educational experience. Our students have
several opportunities to complete meaningful periods
of work experience and have access to high quality
independent information, advice and guidance in
relation to careers education.
Students are offered the opportunity to participate in a
wide range of residential and day visits to further enrich
their curriculum.

• Visiting CERN (the largest particle physics laboratory in the
world) in Switzerland;
• Participating in sports tournaments in southern Spain;
• Competing in local and national mathematics and language
challenge events;
• Regular visits to Russell Group universities;
• Visits to and from leading industry figures;
• Trips to local and national theatres including the Royal Ballet;
• Residential visits to outdoor activity centres.
