Our curriculum is constantly reviewed and developed so
it best caters to the needs of all our students.
Students are able to access a wide range of academic
and vocational qualifications, tailored to meet their
interests, aptitudes and learning styles.
There is a clear emphasis on the core subjects of
mathematics and English. The development of highly
literate and numerate students is of vital importance.
At Key Stage 3 students all study mathematics, English,
science, history, geography, philosophy and ethics, a
modern foreign language, physical education, a range
of technology subjects, performing arts and computing.
The Key Stage 3 curriculum is complemented by a
comprehensive personal, social, health and economic
education package which supports our young people in
developing the skills they need to grow up as healthy
individuals who can confidently make informed decisions
about their lives. Careers education is embedded into
the curriculum throughout all key stages.
At Key Stage 4 students study a core programme of
mathematics, English and the sciences complemented
with a comprehensive personal, social, health and
economic education package and physical education.
They then select four further subjects to study at GCSE
or BTEC level from a wide range selection of challenging
and exciting subjects. Our most able students have the
opportunity to study some courses at AS level.
