At Landau Forte College Derby, we pride ourselves in being a learning organisation. This applies to tutors as well as students. Our track record for training teachers is outstanding with many trainees being employed by Landau Forte upon graduation. We have been a place where teachers can learn their craft for many years and in recognition of this, The National College of Teaching and Leadership has accredited the College as a provider of Initial Teacher Training.
Being a SCITT means that we will select, train and award qualified teacher status to new teachers and in partnership with The University of Derby, award a PGCE with credits towards Masters Level study. We are the first school in the city to have this level of accreditation and so it is an exciting opportunity for us to lead on training the teachers of the future.
We know that teachers value the professional development opportunities we have at the College. Our staff our encouraged to learn and develop their skills as part of their on-going training. We recognise that learning doesn’t stop once you are qualified!

“Having worked at Landau Forte College as a Learning Support Assistant, I was delighted on securing my place as a Trainee Tutor of English. It has been an amazing experience to work with some of the students that I supported the year before. I have learnt a lot from working at the college, especially on the INSET days and the development training. The students have been a pleasure to teach and I was lucky to have my own tutor group. It has been an absolute pleasure to work at Landau Forte College and feel extremely well prepared for my future career as a teacher.”

“How have I become a reflective professional…? My answer is simple hard work, passion, belief and a fantastic network of great people. This would have been a mountain of a task without the support of Landau Forte College.”
