Education at Sixth Form

Our students, their learning and their achievement are our priority. In 2021, outcomes for Year 13 students were very impressive. Students attained  46% A*-A grades, and 90% A*-C grades in A Level courses, whilst  achievement was also very pleasing, with a significantly positive value-added score. Our high expectations, coupled with your high aspirations, will be underpinned by strong personal support and guidance. Together they will provide the firm foundation for you to succeed. At Landau Forte College Derby Sixth Form you will be challenged in an atmosphere which is geared to your achievement and you will have outstanding opportunities that enable you to develop your character, interests, abilities, aptitudes and, most of all, to realise your potential.

The College provides an outstanding environment and climate for learning, with a clear focus upon the individual as a member of a dynamic and supportive community. We hope you find the prospect of joining Landau Forte College Derby an exciting one and we look forward to receiving your application.

The standard Sixth Form working day runs from 8.30am to 3.10pm with an additional session that runs from 3.25pm to 4.25pm. This is for enrichment activities, although you might also have an extra session at that time. All of your tutors work until 4.30pm, so there is always time to meet with them after timetabled sessions have finished, to seek extra advice and support. Furthermore, the Information Centre is open until 4.25pm Monday to Thursday, so you can remain at College to study.

In Year 12, five hours per week are dedicated to each main curriculum subject, with a further hour per week for the compulsory core programme which includes Careers support. A typical student, who is studying the equivalent at 3 A Levels in Year 12, will have up to 14 hours for personal study each week.
