Trainees who are currently training to teach at Landau Forte College Derby SCITT threw themselves into the College’s annual fundraising activities for Children in Need today. Sharon Kenworthy, who is training to teach Science (Biology), decided to dress up as Buzz Lightyear, alongside more experienced colleagues who clothed themselves as Woody and Jess. Sharon said: “It’s a really great atmosphere in school today. I am enjoying working with the students in a different way and trying to promote in them a sense of community.” Other trainee tutors are working with their form groups on a range of stalls from tombolas to a bottle-flipping competition. On average the College raise around £9,000 for Children in Need every year.
Every year the College dedicates an entire day to raising thousands of pounds for Children in Need. This year we raised an incredible £7,615.19 for the charity, with every single penny going to help improve the lives of vulnerable children across the UK.
