The positivity and creativity of so many of our students is something we are very proud of at College. And when the House Competition of writing just a 2 page script was launched, this allowed many to really come into their own! The script could be set wherever the student’s liked; have as many characters as they wanted and the plot was completely up to them…it just had to be within 2 pages (smallest font size 10 – this was questioned by a student very quickly!) Reading the entries was an absolute delight! I was taken from attics to forests and from gaming worlds to different periods of history. There were human characters with varying relationships; animal characters that ranged from cats to dinosaurs, and even one’s called Unit and Statistic. I felt sadness, hope and positivity, sometimes all within the same story! There was even deeper meanings and political messages in some entries, and magical worlds and escapism in others. A massive well done to all who took part, the winning entries were:
- Key Stage 3
Olivia & Freya - Key Stage 4
Chloe, runner-up Liz - Key Stage 5
Priya
If anyone was wondering if you can be hooked into a story and taken on a journey in just 2 pages…well our students have proved that you can!
