The Solomon Theatre Company visited LFCD last week to work with all of Year 10 on the subject of healthy relationships. Students watched ‘The Power of Love’, an interactive play about:
- Exploitation and the forms of abuse; physical or psychological.
- Healthy Relationships – the significance of respect, equality, trust and goodwill.
- Grooming
After watching the play together workshops took place to smaller groups of students to ensure the above topics could be explored in more detail. The key focus of the event was to ensure students were able to identify the varying forms of abuse that can take place in a relationship and that they were able to discuss the fundamental principles of a healthy relationship (respect, trust and equality).
