Landau Forte College Derby is delighted to receive the Bronze Skills Builder award. This is in recognition of the work the College has done to prepare its students to succeed in education and in their future employment.
The Skills Builder Universal Framework provides the national standard for teaching essential skills, breaking each skill down into steps to ensure students are able to easily understand and develop these. These will then serve the students well in their studies and when they move into employment after school.
Landau Forte College Derby was awarded their Bronze Skills Builder mark for its work to prepare students for future success. During Tutor Time this year, students in Year 7 and Year 10 have been developing their skills such as ‘staying positive’.
These skills were then revisited in their tutor time sessions over the course of the year to embed and build upon them. These skills proved notably useful during the Year 10’s work experience placements when they had to showcase the skills they had learnt which would help them with the world of work.
The College plans to continue developing these skills at Tutor Time for the next academic year and will look to build upon its work to date.
