The State Funeral of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
I wanted to write to you to confirm that following the very sad announcement from Buckingham Palace of the death of our sovereign, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, it has now been confirmed that the State Funeral on Monday 19 September will be a bank holiday and all schools will close. We will continue to offer our support to students through this period of National Mourning, our pastoral team is always on hand to offer support and guidance to all our young people.

Derby Food 4 Thought Alliance. We have attached a flyer to this email which provides information about Derby Food 4 Thought Alliance. The Alliance supports Derby residents who are experiencing food poverty. If you and your family need support please do contact the Alliance via 01332 346266 or via one of their social media sites detailed on the attached flyer.
Early closure for our Year 6 Open evening on Wednesday, 14 September. Our Open Evening will give Year 6 parents/ carers and their children the opportunity to visit our vibrant school, meet our amazing staff and students and experience what makes LFCD such a wonderful learning environment. We are asking parents and carers to book a place for the evening and arrive at 4.30pm, 5.30pm or 6.30pm, places can be booked by emailing [email protected] or telephoning 01332 204040. We have staggered arrival times to the event to help us manage the number of visitors on site. Interest in the evening has been significant and therefore we have extended the time of the event this year. As detailed in previous communications, to give staff time to set up for the event the school day will end at 2.20pm. We apologise for the inconvenience this early closure may cause, we can supervise your child in our Information Centre until 3.10pm if required. If you would like your child to wait in the Information Centre until 3.10pm on 14 September please email the PA to the Principal, Miss Walendziewski, [email protected] .
