Last term we were very lucky to welcome the acclaimed teenage author Alexandra Sheppard to Landau Forte College. As a former student Alex was keen to visit the College and see how things had changed since her time here.
All our year 7 and 8 students had the opportunity to listen to Alex talk about her experiences and inspirations as a writer, and receive some top tips should they wish to pursue a career as a writer or within the creative industries. Alex also ran writing workshops for students, using ideas from her book Oh My Gods, to inspire students to create their own modern day God and to begin writing the opening of their own short story.
Some of the Gods that students created included Timo the God of time, Daria the God of dreams, Sinthia the God of nature and even the God of Pizza!
