Four Landau Forte Robotics team qualified for the National Finals that took place on 3 and 4 March in Telford. To have four Landau teams qualify is incredibly but the fact they went on to win three national awards at the competition is amazing!
Team A, made of up of Year 8 students achieved third place in their division out of thirty national teams. This is a brilliant achievement in a very competitive competition.
Team Beast (departing for Iowa on Sunday) achieved the second highest score in the national competition and won the national CREATE award due to their outstanding 80+ pages engineering book, their robot design and programming. The teams that achieved first and second place at the Nationals are invited to represent the UK at the Robotics Worlds Finals in May in Dallas. As we are travelling to Iowa next week we won’t be able to travel to Dallas but we have our sights set on qualification next year and attending the World Final!
Team C won the prestigious Judges’ Award out of the sixty participating teams, another very significant achievement.
Team D, consisting of Year 7 students only, achieved third place in their division, which is the highest a Year 7 Landau Forte team has ever performed on a national level. This is another superb achievement and means that the future looks very bright for Robotics at LFCD!
Well done to all our students involved, we are so proud of you all! Thank you to Mr Harbour and Mr Armah for making all of this happen – we really appreciate your hard work.
Good luck to Team Beast as they travel to Iowa on Sunday next week.
