Good morning,
Thank you all for your ongoing support. We have had a great start to the new academic year. All years groups have shown significant commitment and dedication to their learning and we are very pleased with the progress they are making. Lots of exciting events have already taken place this academic year including the Macmillan Coffee Morning, Year 8 Poetry Workshops, participation in national Robotics tournaments, Sixth Form careers event and lots of sporting fixtures.
On Wednesday 9 October we are hosting our Sixth Form Open Evening, the event is an opportunity to visit our brilliant Sixth Form and talk to specialist staff about the A level courses we offer. We are incredibly proud of our Sixth Form. Not only do our students achieve outstanding examination results we also provide a high level of pastoral care, guidance and support for our students and the non-qualification curriculum is incredibly strong. When Ofsted visited in March they highlighted the quality of our Sixth Form stating ‘the quality of academic and personal support students in the Sixth Form receive is exceptional’ We have already written to our Year 11 students about the Open Evening and more information can be found here: https://landau-forte.org.uk/sixthform/sixth-form-open-evening/
We will close at 3pm on Wednesday 9 October to enable staff to set up for the Open Evening which starts at 4.30pm.
As we did last academic year, we will continue to close at 3pm when we have Parents’ Evenings. This allows time for staff to prepare for the event. The next Parents’ Evening is a virtual Year 8 Parents’ Evening on Wednesday 16 October.
The last day of term is Friday 18 October. School will close at the normal time of 3.10pm. This is not a non-uniform day and students should attend in school uniform.
