Last week, students from our college reading club had the exciting opportunity to visit Derby University to take part in the Derbyshire Schools’ Book Award final (DSBA). The Derbyshire Schools’ Book Award is a great opportunity for students to come together to read and discuss some shortlisted books, and then vote for their favourite book.
Our trip to Derby University included a tour of the University, taking part in the DSBA quiz, listening to schools’ presentations and a talk and book signing with author Dan Smith. Dan talked to us about his latest book projects and read from one of his books. It was a lovely afternoon and students returned to college eagerly looking forward to reading next year’s booklist. A big well done to all our students who took part!
