To celebrate International Women’s Day at LFCD we held several exciting events. Our Year 7 and 8 girls participated in an inspiring gathering, with a fantastic all female panel including Rachel Swann, Chief Constable of Derbyshire Police. Our students asked some really challenging questions about gender stereotyping and calling out sexism.
Our Year 7 girls all participated in the biggest ever football session. At LFCD we are dedicated to promoting equality in sports and empowering more of our girls to participate in traditionally male dominated sports.
At lunchtime our Year 12 Equality Ambassadors encouraged all our students to make pledges to support #AcceleratingAction, the theme of IWD 2025. Our students highlighted issues such as the gender pay gap, violence against women and girls and access to health services. We were so impressed by the positive engagement in the day’s activities by all in the Landau community!
