Students and staff at Landau Forte College Derby are today celebrating a set of fantastic GCSE results.
Teenagers across the country have celebrated their results after sitting their exams throughout May and June. This is the first year that grading will return to pre-pandemic standards, however, exam regulator Ofqual asked exam boards to take into consideration the disruption students have suffered due to Covid-19.
Staff at Landau Forte College Derby have gone above and beyond to ensure students were prepared and confident while sitting their exams. In particular, the school, part of the Landau Forte Charitable Trust, offered an enhanced package of pastoral and wellbeing support and additional subject specific intervention at the end of the school day.
The extra support paid off with many students achieving excellent results, while staff celebrated another year of fantastic grades, with 80% of students achieving a grade 4 or above in English and Maths.
Marin Abraham achieved eight grade 9s (Maths, English Language, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Geography, RE, Business Studies) and two grade 8s (English Literature, Spanish)
Merin Aju achieved eight grade 9s (Maths, English Language, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Geography, RE, Spanish) and two grade 8s (English Literature, PE)
Alehsa Aris achieved seven grade 9s (Maths, Bio, Chemistry, Physics, Product Design, Business Studies) and three grade 8s (English Literature, Spanish, Art)
Arda Iridzhan six grade 9s (Maths, English Language, English Literature, Biology, Chemistry, Geography) three grade 8s (Physics, History, Art) and one grade 7 (Spanish)
