We are delighted to share that Landau Forte College Derby has received a glowing report following the recent Ofsted inspection in March.
We are very proud to report that the inspectors could not have praised the school more highly, rating us as outstanding in every single category.
We are particularly pleased to see how impressed the inspectors were with our fantastic students. They stress that students’ behaviour is “exemplary” and that “pupils thrive at this school.” They say students enjoy their time at school and show “highly positive attitudes to learning”, while also showing “tenacity, modesty, empathy and manners”. We are so proud of every single one of our students and would like to thank them for all their dedication and hard work.
Other key highlights recognised in the report include:
- All staff are “absolutely clear” about what students should know, remember and be able to do in each subject and in each year group, and the school’s curriculum has been carefully designed so that students acquire new knowledge
- The school is inclusive and disadvantaged children and those with special educational needs and/or disabilities “receive everything they need to be successful”.
- The “highly skilled teaching” available to students in the sixth form was praised and inspectors say the academic and personal support they receive is exceptional.
- The inspectors were impressed by the “rich set” of extra-curricular activities on offer and noted the high levels of uptake from students across the age groups.
